Research Program Manager
The Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute (GMGI) is an exciting and growing research institute, addressing critical challenges facing the health of our oceans as well as using the ocean’s unique resources to address human health through innovative scientific research and education. GMGI is looking for a dynamic, organized, and experienced individual to serve as our Research Program Manager. As a member of our Research Team, you will help guide our research programs and oversee laboratory operations to ensure the highest level of efficiency, productivity, and impact aligned with our mission.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and organization skills, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills to thrive in a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
Graduate degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Marine Science, or related field
3+ years relevant program management work experience successfully supporting research projects
Experience managing federally funded research (e.g., NSF, NOAA, NIH, USDA, etc)
Knowledge of good laboratory practice and safety through lab operations experience
Knowledge of IBC and IACUC guidelines and regulations
Highly organized and detail oriented; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills across a variety of stakeholders in multiple formats
Strong computer skills, especially in MS Office suite products, and the ability to learn new programs/systems
Independent, creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills
Excellent teamwork skills for success in a collaborative and dynamic environment
This position reports to the CSO.
