Sue Gardner has a diverse range of work experience. Sue started their career as an intern at The Nature Conservancy in 1989. Sue then worked as a research assistant and teaching assistant at the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 1992, they joined the National Park Service as a Biological Science Technician and later became a Program Manager. Sue also served as the Logistics Chair for the Society for Ecological Restoration International Conference from 1997 to 1999. In 1993, they joined the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, where they are currently the Senior Director of Community Stewardship & Conservation Science. Sue also served as the President of Crestmont School from 2006 to 2008.
Sue Gardner earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Economics from UC Santa Barbara from 1981 to 1985. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Conservation Biology and Sustainable Development at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1989 to 1991.
