Jonnie West

Jonnie West enters his ninth season with the Warriors organization and his third as the team’s director of basketball operations after spending the previous three seasons as the team’s director of player programs. Prior to serving as the director of player programs, West spent two seasons as associate general manager of Golden State’s G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, helping assemble a roster that won the 2014-15 G League championship. He originally joined the Warriors in 2012-13 as Santa Cruz’s director of basketball operations and assisted with personnel and advance scouting duties.

Before joining the Warriors, West worked at Wasserman Media Group, where he assisted with NBA free agency and draft preparation. West played collegiately for four seasons at West Virginia University, making four NCAA appearances with the Mountaineers—including a trip to the Final Four in 2010. Jonnie’s father, Jerry West, is an NBA Hall of Famer and longtime NBA executive. West and wife, Michelle, have a daughter, Makenna.
