Grant Cumming

Grant Cumming has extensive experience in the aquaculture industry, specifically in salmon farming. Grant currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer Farming Canada at Grieg Seafood, where they oversee salmon farming operations on the east and west coast of Canada. Prior to this, they worked as the Operations Manager at Scottish Seafarms, where they managed seawater and freshwater Atlantic salmon production in Shetland, Scotland. Grant also held various roles at Grieg Seafood Shetland UK, including Managing Director and Production Manager, where they were responsible for managing a vertically integrated salmon farming business and overseeing the sea growing life stage of salmon. Earlier in their career, Grant worked as an Aquaculture Lecturer/Instructor at NAFC Marine Centre UHI and as a Production Manager at Orkney Seafoods Ltd. Grant started their career at Marine Harvest (Scotland) Ltd, where they worked as a Trainee, Assistant, and Site Manager.

Grant Cumming attended the University of Aberdeen from 1990 to 1994, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Zoology, with a focus on Marine and Fisheries Biology. Grant then pursued further education at The Open University and NAFC Marine Centre from 2002 to 2005, completing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mariculture.
