Atul Nagare

Director, Clinical Science at Gritstone Bio

Atul Nagare, MD, has a diverse work experience in the field of clinical research and medicine. Atul is currently serving as the Director of Clinical Science at Gritstone bio, where they provide clinical research input for COVID-19 vaccine candidates and contributes to the development of clinical protocols. Previously, they worked as a Consultant at Bristol Myers Squibb.

Before joining Gritstone bio and Bristol Myers Squibb, Dr. Nagare held various positions at the Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disease Research Institute (CMDRI), including Director of Clinical Operations/Clinical Data Analyst/Clinical Research Consultant. In this role, they designed and developed a new methodology for analyzing cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) data.

Dr. Nagare also worked as a Consultant for MyoKardia, where they collaborated with CMDRI on CPET and ECG analysis for several projects related to the treatment of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Prior to their position at CMDRI, Dr. Nagare served as a Project Manager and Clinical Data Analyst at the High Blood Pressure Research Institute (HBPRI), where they managed clinical trials for various pharmaceutical companies, addressing data quality issues and developing a unique software system for analyzing CPET and ECG data.

Atul has also gained experience as a Clinical Research Associate at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital, where they recruited and evaluated study subjects, analyzed clinical data, and communicated with participants.

Additionally, Dr. Nagare worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator for Cook Research Incorporated, Celularity Inc., Cordis, and New England Research Institutes (NERI). In these roles, they coordinated and facilitated research activities for various clinical trials in the field of vascular surgery.

Atul Nagare, MD completed their Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MD equivalent) from Grant Medical College & Sir JJ Group Of Hospitals, Mumbai from 1997 to 2003. Atul pursued further specialization in Orthopedics and trauma, receiving a degree in surgery from the University of Mumbai from 2004 to 2008.
