Ashraf Aboulnaga

Chief Scientist at Hamad Bin Khalifa University

Ashraf Aboulnaga has extensive work experience in various positions. Ashraf currently holds the role of Chief Scientist at Qatar Computing Research Institute, which they have held since April 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Research Director from January 2019 to March 2021 and the Research Director from June 2015 to December 2018. Ashraf also worked as the Principal Scientist at the same institute from April 2013 to June 2015.

Before joining Qatar Computing Research Institute, Ashraf Aboulnaga worked at the University of Waterloo. Ashraf held the position of Adjunct Associate Professor from July 2015 to July 2018 and the Associate Professor from July 2009 to June 2015. Ashraf started their career at the university as an Assistant Professor from August 2004 to June 2009.

Ashraf Aboulnaga also gained research experience at IBM as a Research Staff Member from 2002 to 2004. Ashraf began their career in academia as a Teaching/Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin from 1996 to 2002. Prior to that, they worked as a Lecturer at Alexandria University from 1993 to 1996.

Ashraf Aboulnaga completed their education in Computer Science. Ashraf started their academic journey in 1988 at Alexandria University, where they pursued both a Bachelor's and Master's degree. Ashraf studied at Alexandria University until 1996.

After graduating from Alexandria University, Ashraf Aboulnaga continued their studies in Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Ashraf enrolled in a Master's and PhD program, which they completed in the years 1996 to 2002. Throughout this period, they focused on advancing their knowledge and expertise in the field of Computer Science.
