Chris Turpin Ph.d., Sphr

Chris Turpin, Ph.D., SPHR, SHRM-SCP has extensive work experience in various leadership and teaching roles in the field of human resources. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Human Resources Officer at HandCraft Linen Services since October 2019. In addition to this, they serve as an adjunct professor in the Human Resource Program at the University of Richmond since 2001 and will also be an adjunct professor in the MBA Program at Longwood University starting from May 2023. Chris also has experience as the Founder and President of HR UPFRONT since 2008. Previously, they have held significant roles such as Chief Operating Officer at Virginia Ear, Nose, and Throat from March 2019 to October 2019, Chief Experience Officer at Virginia Eye Institute from 2013 to 2019, Vice-President of Human Resources and Operations at Virginia Eye Institute from 2009 to 2013, and Director of Human Resources at Virginia Eye Institute from 2000 to 2009. Furthermore, Chris has an extensive history with Ukrop's Super Markets, Inc. where they served as the Senior Executive Manager of Human Resources from 1984 to 2000.

Chris Turpin, Ph.D., SPHR, SHRM-SCP has an impressive education history. Chris obtained their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Higher Education, Policy, Planning, and Leadership from William & Mary in 2013. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science degree in Personnel and Human Resource Management from American University in 1999. Chris'sundergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Applied Studies in Human Resource Management, was obtained from the University of Richmond in 1997.

In addition to their academic achievements, Chris has also earned certifications in the field of Human Resources. Chris obtained the Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) Certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) in May 2000. Chris also holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from HR Certification Institute - HRCI, although the exact date of attainment is unknown.
