Kevin Burford

Kevin Burford has extensive experience as a Solutions Architect and Software Engineer, with a focus on cloud-based solutions. Kevin began their career at Genus PLC, where they worked as an Analyst Programmer. Kevin then moved on to London Processing Centre Limited, where they served as a Senior Analyst Programmer, responsible for research and development. Kevin also worked at Hastings Borough Council as a Software Developer on a contract basis.

Following this, Kevin joined Gardner's Books as a Senior Software Engineer, where they redesigned and rewrote their client ordering system, resulting in significant cost efficiencies. Kevin then transitioned to Barclays Corporate Banking, where they worked as a Lead Software Engineer, developing software and infrastructure to support financial transactions and automation of manual processes.

Kevin went on to work at Barclays Bank as a Technical Architect and later as a Solution Architect, leading the architecture, design, and development of solutions. Kevin was responsible for projects such as Ledger-Master, an internet-facing portal for business customers, and a complex information capture and workflow platform for banking clients.

In their most recent role at Ocean Point Software Ltd, Kevin served as a Solution Architect, focusing on the design and implementation of Azure cloud environments for e-commerce mobile apps and information capture platforms.

Currently, Kevin works as a Principal Solutions Architect at Hastings Direct, where they are responsible for projects in digital engagement channels for customers. Kevin'sinitiatives include defining and implementing cloud-first adoption strategies, re-engineering for Azure, and conducting proof-of-concepts on emerging Azure technologies.

Kevin Burford attended the University of Brighton from 1989 to 1993, where they pursued a degree in Computer Studies with a focus on Computing. Prior to that, they completed their GCSEs at William Parker School from 1984 to 1989. Kevin also holds additional certifications, including Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate and Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, which were obtained in 2023 from Microsoft.
