Laurel Omert

Laurel Omert has extensive work experience in the medical field. Laurel currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Hemanext since October 2019. Prior to this, they worked at CSL Behring as the Senior Medical Director for Acquired Bleeding and Specialty Products from November 2013 to October 2019. Laurel also held the position of Intensivist and Trauma surgeon at Albert Einstein Medical Center from 2004 to October 2019. Additionally, they have worked as the Medical Director for Haemostasis Management at Haemonetics from January 2010 to November 2013. Earlier in their career, they served as the Chief Medical Officer at Northfield Laboratories from January 2004 to June 2009. Laurel started their medical career at Allegheny General Hospital, where they worked as an Intensivist and Trauma Surgeon, as well as the Assistant Director of Trauma from 1997 to 2004.

Laurel Omert pursued a Fellowship in Research at the University of Pittsburgh. Laurel also completed a Fellowship in Trauma Critical Care at the Maryland Institute of Emergency Medical Services Systems (Shock Trauma). Their medical education includes an MD degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. Prior to that, they obtained a BA degree in Biology and Psychology from Yale University. Laurel completed their high school education at Cardinal Spellman HS.
