Application Scientist at Henry Royce Institute

Muhammad Umar is an experienced Application Scientist at the Henry Royce Institute, actively contributing to the EconoMISER Project aimed at promoting economic material innovation for sustainable resource use since April 2023. In addition, Muhammad serves as a Sustainable Materials Theme Representative for the Foundation Industries Sustainability Consortium and is a Fellow with the Higher Education Academy, participating as a LEAP Mentor and Assessor. Previous roles include Lab Manager at the Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre and Senior Materials Scientist at AEH Innovative Hydrogel Ltd, focusing on advancing gelponics technology. Academic endeavors include a PhD in Materials, Textile Sciences and Technology from The University of Manchester, alongside a Master's and Bachelor's in Textile Engineering from the National Textile University. Muhammad has also gained significant research experience at the National Textile Research Center, where product development and material testing were conducted using various advanced techniques.
