David Butt

David Butt has a diverse work experience in the field of software development. David started their career at Intel Corporation in 2001 as a Software Engineer, where they were responsible for designing and implementing hardware control software and device drivers. In 2007, they worked as a Developer at MX Telecom, developing an Interactive Voice Response module and an SMS-driven dating platform.

In 2011, David joined WDS, A Xerox Company, where they held several roles including Developer, Lead Developer, and Product Owner/Research Owner. David was responsible for delivering a large AI/Machine learning solution and coordinating research efforts with product direction.

David worked as a Senior Developer C# at Vidados in 2016, where they were involved in developing the backend, admin/members site, and frontend of a holiday marketplace startup. David then worked as a Consultant Java Developer at Conduent in 2016.

From 2017 to 2020, David worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Holiday Extras, focusing on NodeJS backend microservices and React frontend website. David was responsible for new features, maintenance of 3rd party integrations, data aggregation, and customer-facing websites.

In 2020, David joined Polaris Elements as a Technical Lead, working on ePOS software and integrating with various 3rd party applications for booking and ordering. Currently, they are working as a Technical Lead at Semble.

David Butt attended the University of St Andrews from 1997 to 2001, where they pursued a degree in Computer Science.
