Baris Kovan

Baris Kovan is a Principal Engineer and Owner at Hive Power Engineering LLC since June 2017, with previous experience as a Senior Consultant at PPL Corporation from September 2016 to October 2017. Kovan served as an Engineering Manager at Stantec from May 2012 to May 2016 and worked as an Electrical Engineer at Altran Solutions, focusing on substation design and equipment renovation for various utility companies from December 2010 to May 2012. Earlier experience includes roles as an Electrical Engineer at Tetra Tech CAA, where Kovan designed power distribution systems and critical load systems, as well as positions at HLW as a part-time Electrical Engineer intern, New York Power Authority as a Protection and Control Developmental Intern, and New York City Transit as an Engineering Intern. Baris Kovan holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering - Power Systems, along with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from New York University, and an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from The City University of New York.
