Hannu Toivola

Hannu Toivola has a diverse work experience in user experience (UX) design and product ownership. Hannu worked at Holvi as a User Experience Lead & Product Owner, where they focused on improving Holvi's customer-facing applications and internal design system. Prior to that, they were a Senior UX Designer at Holvi, responsible for payment functionality and invoicing, as well as enhancing the internal design system. Hannu also worked at ABB as a Principal UX Designer, leading the design system across multiple platforms and coaching software projects. At Solita Oy, they worked as a User Experience Designer on various digital service projects and developed new approaches to Lean UX. Hannu began their career at Nokia as an Interaction Designer for the MeeGo platform, leading usability and graphics work while collaborating with development teams. Hannu also gained experience as a research assistant at Tampere University of Technology, conducting user studies and presenting papers at conferences. Before that, they worked at Elisa as a Technical Customer Service Specialist and at Karpalomedia as a Usability Consultant. Throughout their career, Hannu has demonstrated expertise in UX design, product ownership, and usability enhancement.

Hannu Toivola holds a Master of Science (Technology) degree in Usability, Marketing, and Industrial Management from Tampere University of Technology, which they obtained between 2000 and 2010. In addition, they have completed a vocational teacher qualification from Haaga-Helia School of Vocational Teacher Education in 2018-2019. Hannu Toivola has also acquired certification as a Certified Scrum Product Owner from the Scrum Alliance in April 2017.
