Kevin Dayton

Kevin Dayton is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in political reporting and government affairs in Hawaii. Currently a Senior Reporter for Honolulu Civil Beat since July 2020, Kevin focuses on the Hawaii Legislature and corrections within the state. Previously, Kevin served as Capitol Bureau Chief at the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, overseeing political coverage for Hawaii's largest daily newspaper. Other roles include Executive Director in the County of Hawaii's Office of the Mayor and Big Island Bureau Chief at The Honolulu Advertiser. Kevin's academic background includes a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Arizona.
