About the Role
Houzz is looking for a world-class Analyst to join our Pro Software Analytics team. Our mission is to assist Houzz software initiatives with data driven insights. Our team is working on discovering information hidden in vast amounts of data to make intelligent business decisions and to deliver better products. Critical projects will focus on data-driven insights to guide product development and business direction.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with leadership, product, analytics and engineering teams to identify, define and launch strategic and operational data science initiatives to improve Pro software performance.
- Define key metrics (KPIs) to guide business decision makings across various aspects of our site. Relentlessly manage the key metrics of the business and product.
- Ensure product areas are performing in line with our high expectations and be able to identify, diagnose and recommend projects to improve our performance.
- Design product experiments, interpret the results to draw detailed and impactful conclusions, and conduct root cause analysis.
- Own the end-to-end execution of projects by working with a broad cross-functional team.
- Work with data infrastructure / product engineering teams to define the data collection needs.
- Provide recommendations to assist quick product ideation and feature launch decisions.
At a Minimum, We’d Like You to Have
- Bachelors/Masters Degree with 3-5 years of experience working within an analytical role in a high-growth tech company.
- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries such as using aggregate functions and all types of joins using Hive or Presto. Strong programming skills in Python or R.
- Proficiency in advanced experimental designing, testing, and analysis.
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for analytics and product development.
- Self-motivated, independent, and eager to learn.
Ideally, You'll Also Have
- Experience working with remote teams with a time zone difference.
- Experience with SaaS solution, user engagement and funnel conversion.
- Ability to learn and act quickly, making decisions and drawing conclusions in the face of ambiguity.
- Experience with statistical modeling.
- Proficiency in using Tableau for visualization.
