Mark Johnson has a diverse work experience in research roles. Mark started their career as a Research Intern at Mason Immigration Law Office in 2016, where they conducted research on the legality of Salvadoran prison conditions in the context of immigration and deportation. Mark then worked as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at The University of Memphis from 2015 to 2017. In 2018, they joined the State of West Virginia as a Research Specialist for a brief period. Since 2018, Mark has been working at HTI Labs, where they have held various roles including Research Assistant, Research Associate, and currently serves as the Head of Research. In their current role, they conduct impact-minded research in the areas of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking, leveraging structured and unstructured data for diverse applications.

Mark Johnson completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Philosophy at the University of Nebraska at Omaha from 2010 to 2015. Following that, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Political Science at The University of Memphis from 2015 to 2017. In addition to their formal education, Mark Johnson obtained several certifications, including "Fundamentals of Bayesian Data Analysis in R," "Machine Learning in the Tidyverse," and "Supervised Learning in R: Classification" from DataCamp. Mark also obtained certifications from edX and HarvardX.
