Toby Gray is a skilled professional with extensive experience in landscape management and geography. Currently serving as a Plant Recorder at Huntsville Botanical Garden since October 2022, Toby oversees a database of plant locations and attributes. Previously, Toby held various positions at Mississippi State University, including Assistant Research Professor, where research focused on the application of geographic information systems (GIS) for large landscape planning and wildlife conservation, and as a Research Associate, developing GIS methodologies for habitat identification. Toby's research history includes analyzing wildfire distribution and its environmental impacts, alongside significant landscaping roles, including Sole Proprietor at Capability Landscapes, Foreman at Ward Landscapes, and Residential Installation Foreman at Bland Landscaping Company. Toby holds a Ph.D. in Geography and a Master's in Landscape Architecture from Mississippi State University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
