Andrew Old has over 20 years of work experience in data engineering and software development. Andrew is currently working as a Data Engineer V at ID.me since April 2023. Prior to that, they were a Principal Data Engineer at Cardlytics for over two years, where they led a team responsible for the Core Data Platform. Andrew accomplished building robust and scalable streaming data pipelines in AWS, supporting high-speed processing of up to 50k records per second.
Before Cardlytics, Andrew worked as a Senior Data Lake Architect at Carrier for the year 2020. Andrew also held various roles at Omnitracs, where they were a Principal Data Engineer/Architect from 2019 to 2020 and a Senior Manager of S/W Application Engineering from 2011 to 2018. At Omnitracs, they led the Data Engineering effort for their Data and Analytics group and built a scalable Big Data platform on top of the HDP platform in an AWS environment.
Prior to Omnitracs, Andrew worked at Internap for 5 years in roles such as Manager of reporting, Business Intelligence, and Data Warehouse, and Manager of IT Development and Integration. At Internap, they were responsible for rationalizing and upgrading Business Objects universes, designing and building a Data Warehouse using Informatica, and incorporating Agile/Scrum methodology within IT.
Before Internap, they worked as the Director of Operations at Perk International, where they focused on improving operational processes and project delivery efficiency. Andrew has also held software engineering positions at Merill Hall New Media, Georgia Tech Research Institute, and Premier, Inc., where they worked as a Management Consultant.
Andrew Old obtained a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, which they completed between 1991 and 1995. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Operations Research from the same institute and concluded their studies in 1997.
