Andreas Mühlemann

Associate Director, Principal Scientist at Idorsia

Andreas Mühlemann has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Andreas started their career as an undergraduate student fellow and assistant in Biochemistry at the University of Geneva. Andreas then worked at Hoffmann-La Roche as a PhD student and later as a Post-Doc in the Preclinical Research, CNS Department. Andreas joined Actelion in 2006 as a Scientist and eventually became a Lab Head, leading various drug discovery projects and providing support for CNS-related projects. In 2014, they became a Senior Lab Head at Actelion, where they mentored and supervised direct reports, led research projects, and contributed to the development of novel phenotypic assays. Andreas joined Idorsia Pharmaceuticals as a Senior Scientist in 2017 and later became an Associate Director, Principal Scientist. In this role, they mentored and supervised direct reports, led drug discovery projects, and made significant contributions to preclinical candidate selection, target identification, and publication.

Andreas Mühlemann received their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Geneva in 1994. Andreas then pursued a Master's degree in Biology from the same university, completing it in 1996. Following their Master's degree, Andreas Mühlemann went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry from the University of Geneva, graduating in 2001. Andreas Mühlemann's educational journey began at Collège Rousseau, where they completed their Maturité Fédérale in Type Scientifique in 1990.
