Aaron Horvath is a Research Scholar and Associate Director of Research at the Stanford Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society (Stanford PACS) since September 2021, while also serving as a Research Affiliate at the Institute for the Future since August 2022. Horvath completed a PhD in Sociology at Stanford University, where achievements included receiving National Science Foundation (NSF) and Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR) grants, as well as the Burt Award and Shils-Coleman Award from the American Sociological Association. Prior experience includes roles as a Research Assistant at The Urban Institute and Mathematica Policy Research, a Cost-Benefit Analysis Intern at the Vera Institute of Justice, and a Strategic Resources Department Research Intern at the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union. Education prior to Stanford includes a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Princeton University.
