Ahmad Alabdulkareem, Ph.D. has extensive experience in the field of artificial intelligence and smart cities. Ahmad is currently working as the Chief Technology Officer at Intelmatix. Prior to that, they served as a Member at the G20 Global Smart Cities Alliance Working Group, World Economic Forum, where they contributed to the development of governance, policies, and regulations for smart cities. Ahmad also held the position of Head of AI & Smart Cities at the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, World Economic Forum.
Dr. Alabdulkareem has made significant contributions to the field of AI, having headed the AI group at Science 20 and worked as a Senior AI Consultant at TAQNIA ETS. Ahmad has also conducted research and served as a Research Affiliate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the MIT Media Lab. Additionally, they have held positions at the Center for Complex Systems and KAUST, where they focused on data analytics and bioinformatics.
Throughout their career, Dr. Alabdulkareem has led diverse technical projects, utilizing cutting-edge AI and data analytics techniques. Ahmad has developed products and systems ranging from electricity fraud detection to COVID-19 decision support platforms. Their work has contributed to advancements in various domains, including energy, labor skills, and healthcare.
Ahmad Alabdulkareem holds a Ph.D. in Computational Science & Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Their doctoral thesis focused on applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science from KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology), where their research also revolved around AI and ML.
