Mathew Yanik has a comprehensive work experience spanning several companies in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Mathew started their career in 2001 at Array Biopharma Inc. as a Research Scientist, where they focused on medicinal chemistry lead generation, optimization, and high-speed synthesis. Mathew then worked at Tapestry Pharmaceuticals Inc. as a Scientific Consultant in 2003.
From 2004 to 2015, Mathew served as a Senior Research Scientist at J-STAR Research, Inc. In this role, they managed projects and led a group for the pre-clinical preparation of a 15-membered ring macrolactam NS3 hepatitis inhibitor. Mathew also discovered and patented catalyst ligands that improved efficiency and technology transfer for GMP manufacture.
In 2015, Mathew joined Synthetyx LLC and Promethean Analytical Technologies LLC as President, where they provided process and medicinal chemical consulting, as well as synthetic laboratory and analytical instrumentation maintenance services.
Currently, they hold positions at Intercept Pharmaceuticals, starting in 2015 as the Sr. Manager Product Development-API, and progressing to roles such as Associate Director, API, Director Product Development API, and currently as Senior Director API Chemistry.

Mathew Yanik obtained a B.S. in Chemistry from Miami University between 1992 and 1996. Subsequently, they pursued a Ph.D. at the University of Virginia from 1996 to 2001, specializing in Organic Chemistry, with a focus on Natural Product Total Synthesis and Methodology Development.
