Nathan Lai

Nathan Lai has extensive work experience in compliance and audit roles. Nathan began their career as a Senior Associate at KPMG in 2004 and worked there until 2010. Nathan then joined ADP as a Manager of Compliance until 2014. From 2014 to 2016, Nathan served as the Manager of SOX at Aretec Group, Inc., where they implemented SOX for a first-year public company and integrated new business units into the SOX program. Nathan then worked at CIT as the VP of Regulatory, Compliance, and Controls from 2016 to 2018, interacting with various business and function partners. Nathan's most recent position is with Intercept Pharmaceuticals, where they started as the Associate Director of SOX and Internal Audit Compliance in 2018 and was promoted to Director in 2021.

Nathan Lai completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Rutgers University between 1999 and 2003. Nathan then pursued an MBA in Marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University from 2003 to 2004. In addition to their formal education, Nathan obtained various certifications throughout their career. Nathan became a Certified Public Accountant in January 2006 through the New Jersey State Board of Accountancy. In January 2012, they obtained the Certified Internal Auditor designation from The Institute of Internal Auditors. Finally, in August 2014, they obtained the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) certification from the AICPA.
