Michael Cai has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Michael started their career as a Lending/Credit Analysis at a Chinese Investment Bank in 1997. In 1999, they interned at Grameen Bank for their master's thesis on micro-finance. Michael then joined Parks Associates in 2002, where they held various positions including Analyst, Director of Broadband and Gaming, and Director of Digital Media and Gaming. During their time at Parks, Michael established gaming as a new practice and gained expertise in console and PC gaming, online gaming, mobile gaming, and virtual worlds. In 2009, they joined Interpret, a market research company, as the VP of Research, Games and Technology. Michael later became the SVP of Research, Games and Digital, overseeing the company's gaming and digital practice and launching GameByte, a syndicated research on online and mobile gamers. Finally, in January 2017, Michael became the President of Interpret.
Michael Cai completed their BA in Economics with a focus on International Trade, Finance, and Economics at Shandong University from 1993 to 1997. Michael later pursued an MBA in Finance from Baylor University - Hankamer School of Business from 2000 to 2001.
