Tony Algar

Tony Algar has extensive work experience in the financial industry. Tony currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO), a position they have held since September 2020. Prior to this, they worked at CPP Investment Board for ten years, holding various roles including Managing Director of Investment Operations and Head of Treasury Services. Before that, Tony worked at RBC Capital Markets as a Senior Manager in Valuations and at TD Securities Limited as a Vice President in Equity Derivatives. Tony began their career at Export Development Canada, where they served as a Senior Manager in Market Risk.

Tony Algar has a Bachelor of Economics degree from Macquarie University, which they obtained from 1988 to 1991. Tony also has an Associate - ASIA degree from the Securities Institute of Australia, earned between 1998 and 1999. Additionally, they have completed the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) program at GARP in 2001 and the Professional Risk Manager (PRM) program in the same year.
