Peter Tennent has over 30 years of work experience in various roles within the engineering and automation industry. Peter began their career as an Estimator at Tarmac Structural Concrete Limited, where they provided quotations and negotiated with clients for pre-cast flooring and staircases. Peter then worked as an Instrumentation Technician at Apollo Fire Detectors, where they fault-finding, repaired, and calibrated test equipment for fire detection systems.

Peter later joined Hill Graham Controls Limited as a Test Engineer, responsible for writing test specifications and carrying out testing and commissioning of variable speed drives. Peter then worked as a Project Engineer at Cougar Automation Limited, where they were involved in every stage of projects, from writing functional design specifications to onsite commissioning of control systems.

Peter's next role was as an Applications Engineer at Omron Electronics, Australia and New Zealand. In this role, they provided post-sales technical support and conducted PLC training courses for staff and customers. Peter also played an external sales role, promoting Omron's PLCs and HMIs to various clients.

Before their current position, Peter worked as an Automation & Drive Sales professional at IPD, where they supported the sales team in selling and providing support for PLCs and Variable Speed Drives. Peter then transitioned to the role of Product Manager, responsible for product management of various electrical and automation equipment.

In their most recent role at IPD, Peter serves as a Project Manager & Engineering Services Team Leader, ensuring the timely delivery of project work and exceeding client expectations. Peter also leads a team of application and support engineers, providing solutions and technical support to clients.

Throughout their career, Peter has received commendations for their technical support, professionalism, and customer service. Peter has a strong background in project management, customer support, product management, and sales within the engineering and automation industry.

Peter Tennent earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Electronics and Power from the University of Portsmouth, where they studied from 1995 to 1998. Peter later pursued a Post Graduate Certificate in Project Management at the University of South Australia in 2010-2011.
