Katie Thackston has a diverse work experience in healthcare consulting and leadership roles. Katie started their career as a Consultant to the Office of One Health at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 2011. Following this, they worked as an Administrative Intern at Emory Healthcare and as a Georgia Academy of Healthcare Attorneys Fellow at the Georgia Hospital Association.

Thackston then joined Children's Healthcare of Atlanta as a Legal Intern in 2012 and later returned to Emory Healthcare as a Manager in the Government Payers Revenue Cycle division in 2013. In 2014, they worked as a Senior Consultant in Healthcare Strategy at Kurt Salmon.
