Alwyn van Wyk

Alwyn van Wyk has a diverse work experience history. Alwyn currently holds the position of Head of Developer Success at ixo since 2022. Prior to this, they served as an Advisor and then Chief Technology Officer at Envel from 2019 to 2022. In 2018, they founded Younglings Africa, a program dedicated to nurturing and supporting young software developers. Additionally, they worked as a Business Mentor at yDS - Younglings Digital Studio from 2019 to 2022. Alwyn's earlier experiences include roles such as WDA Team Member at Woolworths Financial Services from 2018 to 2020, Head: Cape Town Dev Shop (Aliens) at Barclays Africa Group Limited from 2015 to 2018, and Senior Software Developer and Project Lead at Absa and Woolworths Financial Services from 2012 to 2013. Alwyn also had involvement with Just Plain Agile as a Trainer and Consultant from 2012 to 2013. Prior to that, they worked as a Sr Systems Builder (Contract) at Absa from 2009 to 2012 and as a Senior Java Developer/Team Lead (later Scrum Master) at TATIS in 2009.

Alwyn van Wyk has a National Diploma in Computer Systems from Vaal University of Technology, which they obtained from 1997 to 1998. Prior to that, they attended Stellenbosch University from 1993 to 1995, where they earned a BEng degree in Industrial: Electronic. Additionally, they hold a certification as a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) from Scrum Alliance.
