Disease Intervention Specialist at Jefferson County Department of Health

Alandrea Plump, MPH, has extensive experience in public health, currently serving as a Disease Intervention Specialist at the Jefferson County Department of Health since May 2015, where disease intervention strategies are implemented to reduce communicable disease prevalence. Previous roles include Environmental Health Specialist, focusing on health inspections, compliance enforcement, and community education. Alandrea also gained valuable experience as a Prevention and Epidemiology Intern, conducting investigative fieldwork and data management. Additionally, Alandrea worked as a Life Coach at Grace House Ministries, Inc., from July 2019 to April 2022, promoting positive character development and well-being among children. Alandrea holds a Master of Public Health from the UAB School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University.
