Al Tomas has over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry, with a focus on supplier quality engineering. Al has worked in various roles at companies such as Joby Aviation, Procept Bio-Robotics, Webasto Roof Systems Americas, Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, Ford Motor Company, Eaton, Stryker Instruments, and Chrysler.
Some of their notable achievements include serving as a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer-Composites at Joby Aviation, Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer at Onward during their time at Procept Bio-Robotics, Supplier Quality Lead Engineer at a start-up, Senior Quality Engineer at Webasto Roof Systems Americas, Sr. Engineer Long term quality at Mercedes-Benz, and Sr. Engineer at Ford Motor Company. At Ford, they were responsible for training new engineers, building a team that embraces new technology, and executing flawless product launches. Al was also the North America STA/Subject Matter Expert for Composites, SMC, and Carbon Fiber at Ford, where they acted as the technical liaison between purchasing, product engineering, and the supply base, and was responsible for developing engineering designs for race components.

Al also worked as a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer at Stryker Instruments, where they were responsible for supplier development and audits for a global base of production suppliers.
Before that, Al served as a Supplier Quality Engineer at Chrysler and played a key role in the supplier quality engineering functions for several exterior component platforms, leading APQP and PSO/PPAP efforts for new programs. Al's experience at Chrysler spanned from 2000 to 2008.

Al Tomas completed a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of El Salvador from 1983 to 1987. In 1999, they enrolled in Columbus University and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering. Later, in 2001, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same university. In addition to their educational background, Al Tomas has acquired several certifications including being a Certified ISO 13485 auditor, Certified Marine Surveyor, and a subject matter expert at Ford for carbon fiber and lightweight composites.
