Tommy Smith

Tommy Smith is an experienced outdoor educator and guide currently serving as an Outdoor Educator at Kanuga Camps & Conferences since March 2023, where responsibilities include teaching science and adventure classes to students in grades 4-8, fostering connections to the environment, and ensuring curriculum aligns with state standards. In addition, Tommy has been a Hiking and Backpacking Guide with The Wildland Trekking Company since July 2021, leading various hiking trips while prioritizing safety and navigation. Previous roles include working in multiple capacities at organizations such as La Preña, Southwest Conservation Corps, TCarta, and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, with a focus on data collection, analysis, and technical support in geospatial science. Tommy holds a Master of Science in Geographic Information Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Clark University.
