Stuart O'Brien has a diverse work experience in the field of sports science, strength and conditioning, and personal training. Stuart has served as the Head of Deployments at Kitman Labs since January 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Head of Applied Sport Scientist at Kitman Labs from March 2014 to December 2021.
Before joining Kitman Labs, Stuart was a Strength and Conditioning Coach at Advanced Sports Performance Ireland from December 2013 to March 2014. In this role, they worked with various sports teams and individuals, including Sligo Footballers Senior & U21, providing strength and conditioning coaching.
Stuart also gained experience as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at Sligo R.F.C from July 2013 to February 2014. Here, they designed individualized training programs for players, conducted pre-season tests, and implemented corrective exercise programs.
Stuart worked as a Personal Trainer at Pride Fitness from January 2013 to February 2014 and at Healthstyles Leisure Club from May 2008 to May 2011.
Stuart further expanded their expertise as a Strength and Conditioning Coach during pre-season training at Heidelberg Ruder Klub, a professional rugby club, in July and August 2013.
Stuart's early career included an internship as a Strength and Conditioning Intern at Munster Rugby Academy from October 2010 to May 2011.
Stuart O'Brien pursued their education in the field of sports and exercise science. Stuart obtained their Bachelor's degree from the University of Limerick, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Later, Stuart pursued further specialization and completed a Master's degree in Sports Performance at the same university during the time span of 2012 to 2013. In addition to their academic qualifications, Stuart also obtained the certification of Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) in September 2012.
