Johan Unga

Johan Unga has a diverse range of work experience in scientific research and development. Johan currently works as a Formulation Scientist at Klaria AB, where they focus on developing alginate-based drug-containing oral films. Johan'sresponsibilities include ensuring API-film compatibility, formulation stability, dose uniformity, and manufacturability.

Before joining Klaria AB, Johan worked at AAK as a Product Development Manager from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Research Associate at Teikyo University from 2014 to 2020, conducting research in an academic setting.

Johan's research experience also includes working as a Researcher and JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow at Kyoto University from 2011 to 2013, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Uppsala University from 2009 to 2011.

Earlier in their career, Johan worked as a Development Chemist at ACO Nordic AB, where they focused on developing skin care products such as emulsions and gels. Johan was responsible for ingredient selection, formulation, stability studies, scale-up to production, and product documentation.

Johan's academic journey started as a PhD student at Chalmers University of Technology from 2002 to 2008, where they studied lipid liquid crystalline systems and conducted research on equilibrium states, temperature-induced phase transitions, and characterization techniques using optical methods and small-angle x-ray scattering (SAXS).

Johan Unga has a strong educational background in the field of pharmaceutics and physical chemistry. Johan completed their Licensed pharmacist, MSc degree from Uppsala University in 2002. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Pharmaceutics/Physical Chemistry at Chalmers University of Technology, which they successfully obtained in 2008.
