Nina Thorsen has a diverse work experience in the field of radio production and editing. Nina started their career in 1978 as a Production Assistant and House and Box Office Manager at A Prairie Home Companion, Minnesota Public Radio. Nina then worked as a Programming Assistant at Public Radio International from 1986 to 1991. From 1992 to 1999, Nina served as the Deputy Foreign Editor at Marketplace Radio, University of Southern California. Nina joined KQED Public Radio in 1999, where they held various roles such as Producer/Director and PM Editor at Pacific Time, and later as Producer-Director for The California Report/KQED Radio News. Nina also had a role as an Interim Editor at Pacific Time/KQED Public Radio from 2006 to 2007. In 2008, they became the Producer/Director for KQED Public Radio's The California Report/KQED Radio News until 2013. Currently, Nina is working as a Producer/Director for KQED News/The California Report at KQED since 2013.
