Alistair Ritchie

Alistair Ritchie is a seasoned researcher and data architect with over 25 years of experience in environmental data architecture and geoscience. Currently serving as a Senior Researcher at Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research since August 2011, Ritchie specializes in information science, specifically focusing on open standards-based information modeling, service deployment, and ontology-based classification systems, alongside spatial analysis and data management. Prior experience includes roles as a Senior Information Geoscientist at Geological Survey of Victoria, where collaboration in national and international initiatives took place, and earlier positions in exploration geology and geotechnical roles. Ritchie holds a Graduate Diploma in Geographic Information Systems from The University of Western Australia and a B.Sc and M.Sc (hons) in Geology from the University of Canterbury.
