Sean Weera

Sean Weera has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Sean currently works as a Product Engineer at Landscape Forms, a role that started in November 2021. Prior to this, Sean had a long tenure at Dimplex Thermal Solutions, starting in June 2014 and ending in October 2021. During their time there, they served as a Lead R&D Engineer, responsible for developing and utilizing analytical and numerical models for industrial chiller designs. Sean'stasks included solving customer cooling requirements and OEM applications, as well as cross-functional project roles.

Before joining Dimplex Thermal Solutions, Sean worked at Western Michigan University from September 2012 to April 2014. Sean held two roles during their time there, as a Research Discovery Assistant and a Teaching Assistant. As a Research Discovery Assistant, they focused on studying and researching thermoelectric devices for energy harvesting, recovery, and solid-state cooling. As a Teaching Assistant, they assisted students in experimentation techniques related to thermal systems in the ME4390 class.

In addition to their time at Western Michigan University, Sean also gained experience as an Engineering Intern at Dimplex Thermal Solutions from May 2012 to August 2012. In this role, they focused on design verification for industrial chiller designs, ensuring component compatibility, plumbing and refrigeration design, and power and electrical requirements. Sean also worked on designing batched options for quicker product throughput and miscellaneous test stand design projects.

Overall, Sean Weera has acquired extensive experience in product engineering, R&D, research, and teaching in the engineering field.

Sean Weera attended Western Michigan University from 2009 to 2011, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering. Sean further pursued their education at Western Michigan University from 2012 to 2014 and earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
