Gary Stern

Gary Stern has extensive experience in the education field. Gary currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer at Laurence School. Prior to this, they served as the Head of School at High Point Academy from 2015 to 2021. Before that, they worked at Laurence School as the Associate Head of School/Principal from 1998 to 2015. Gary began their career in education as an Elementary School Teacher at Dixie Canyon Elementary School in the Los Angeles Unified School District, where they worked from 1994 to 1998.

Gary Stern obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Social Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley in the years 1984 to 1989. Gary then pursued further education and received a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from Vanderbilt University, attending from 1989 to 1992. In 1997 to 1998, Gary attended the Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology, acquiring a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership.
