Nivatha Balendra

Nivatha Balendra is a seasoned entrepreneur and researcher, currently serving as the CEO and Founder of Dispersa since June 2019, where the focus is on developing natural, biodegradable alternatives to synthetic chemicals using microbial technology. Nivatha also holds a board member position at Laval Innov and previously contributed to Centech Mtl in various roles, including Entrepreneur in Propulsion and Entrepreneur in Acceleration. As a Pathy Foundation Fellow at the Coady Institute, Nivatha enhanced leadership skills and engaged with global challenges. With a strong background in research, particularly in biosurfactant-producing bacteria for bioremediation, Nivatha's experience includes being the President and Founder of the International Young Scientists Mentorship Program and participating as a speaker at TEDxMontrealWomen. Nivatha's academic qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree from McGill University in Physiology, complemented by a Diploma in Health Sciences from Marianopolis College.
