Job description

Welcome to Little Otter!

Little Otter is reimagining the way that children receive mental health care. We pair technology, and exceptional care to deliver high-quality personalized mental health support to families and children anywhere, anytime. Developed by Dr. Helen Egger, previously Head of Child Psychiatry at NYU Langone and Duke University, and the top minds in early childhood mental health, our programs empower families to get back to what matters the most as soon as possible. Little Otter helps parents better understand their child’s emotions and behaviors, providing personalized care plans and evidence-based therapy.

The Role

We are looking for mission-driven team members who are excited to participate actively in growing our offering. Our operations team is small, but there’s an opportunity to have a large impact on our work and the decision-making process. Our approach is to take a data-driven and evidence-based approach to providing high-quality mental health care to families and children, and we are building the platform to enable it. This will be the first of its kind - a platform that focuses on providing a family-centric model to care and one that powers our providers to provide data-driven care.

Salary: $110,000-$130,000 plus equity

*Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

  • Take charge of partnership enrollment, including setting up partnerships in our system and managing enrollments across the organization.
  • Generate reports related to our partnerships and ensure accurate and up-to-date information is maintained.
  • Work closely with the clinical operations team to support efforts related to enrolling and supporting functions related to federal programs.
  • Monitor and report patient eligibility, proactively contacting clients to request updated insurance information if necessary or discussing ineligibility status, such as out-of-network or self-pay.
  • Prepare and submit claims on a weekly basis, addressing any claim corrections as needed. Monitor and manage individual tasks in our system and develop action plans for claims reporting, including denials, timely filing, and authorization.
  • Monitor patient responsibility through our system, generate invoices, and ensure timely distribution to clients for collection.
  • Address insurance and eligibility questions from providers, providing accurate and helpful information.

About You:

About the Company

Early intervention is essential for lifelong health and wellness. Still, most families and children do not receive the mental health support they desperately need. Little Otter is a venture-backed startup reimagining how children and families receive mental health care. We bring technology, proprietary methods, and exceptional providers together to deliver high-quality mental health support directly to families and children anytime, anywhere. Little Otter's assessments identify a family's unique needs, providing a customized care plan that includes a mix of teletherapy and digital self-management tools. Parents receive personalized and judgment-free support that grows with their family over time. Little Otter is the first product of its kind that is sold directly to families. Our goal is to break down existing barriers to high-quality services and empower parents to help their kids when they need it the most.
