Sarang Kapoor has a diverse work experience, starting in 2013 as an intern at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, where they worked on Many Objective Optimization using Evolutionary Algorithms. In 2014, Sarang worked as an intern at Samsung Electronics. From 2015 to 2019, they served as a Project Associate at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, contributing to the Indo-Dutch project "A Systematic approach towards Data Mining and Prediction in Airline Operations." Sarang's role involved algorithm development and implementation for feature construction using pattern mining in airline operations data. In 2021, they joined Locus as a Senior Data Scientist, playing a key role in developing their routing engine and conducting data analysis to support decision-making. Currently, Sarang is the Lead Data Scientist at Locus, where their responsibilities include leading a team and developing advanced algorithms and machine learning models to optimize the routing engine and improve delivery performance for clients in the logistics and transportation sector.
Sarang Kapoor completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Data Mining, Information Theory, Probability & Statistics, and Machine Learning from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Sarang pursued this degree from 2015 to 2020. Prior to their Ph.D., Sarang Kapoor obtained a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, from 2011 to 2015. Sarang completed their Senior Secondary education at St. Clare's Sen. Sec. School, Agra, in 2010, focusing on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Before that, they finished their High School education at the same school in 2008.
