John Shields has extensive experience in the field of landscape architecture. John began their career with The Greenhouse in Norman, OK as a Landscape Designer from January 1991 to March 1993. John then joined Lose Design in March 1993 as a Landscape Architecture Production Manager, where they were responsible for landscape and irrigation design for commercial accounts and parks and recreation divisions. In 2005, they briefly worked as a Designer/Retail Sales at The Greenhouse Gallery. In January 2017, they joined Lose & Associates, Inc. as the Director of Landscape Architecture, where they oversee the operations of the Landscape Architecture Department. John recently assumed the role of Associate Vice President - Landscape Architecture at Lose Design in June 2018.
John Shields, CLIA, ARCSA AP, has a bachelor's degree in Environmental Design with a focus on Landscape Architecture from the University of Oklahoma, which they obtained between 1985 and 1991. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at St. Charles High School, graduating with a high school diploma in General Studies in 1985.
In addition to their formal education, John Shields has obtained several certifications. In 2009, they became a Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor through the Irrigation Association (National) and also became an EPA WaterSense Partner through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. In 2012, they obtained the ARCSA AP certification from The American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association.
