Jodie Horton, MD, FACOG

Jodie Horton, MD, FACOG has a long and distinguished career in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. Jodie began their career in 2004 as an OB/GYN at Perfectly Female. In 2005, they moved to Adler Center for Women's Health, where they worked as an OB/GYN and took call as an OB Hospitalist on an as needed basis. In 2008, they joined TeamHealth as the Facility Medical Director of Clinical Operations and Labor and Delivery unit, managing a team of 4 physicians and supervising Loudoun Community Midwives. In 2013, they became Medical Director at Inova Health System, where they helped create policies and protocols in accordance with the American Academy of Birth Centers (AABC) guidelines. In 2014, they joined Virginia Hospital Center as an Academic Hospitalist and Clinical Assistant Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Georgetown University, where they supervised and taught residents and medical students. In 2017, they became a Peer Reviewer at BHM Healthcare Solutions, responsible for evaluating an organization's compliance with the standards for excellence based on current evidence based medicine. In 2019, they joined MedStar Washington Hospital Center as an Academic Hospitalist and Assistant Clinical Professor at Georgetown University Medical Center, and also became a Physician Clinical Reviewer at Magellan Health, a member of the utilization team that provides timely medical review of service requests. Finally, in 2020, they joined Love Wellness as their Chief Wellness Advisor and the Postpartum Wellness Foundation as a Board Member.

Jodie Horton, MD, FACOG completed their Bachelor of Science in Biology, Chemistry (Minor), and French (Minor) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1995. Jodie then attended Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2000. From 2000 to 2004, they completed their Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
