Russell Pennifold

Russell Pennifold is a Senior Process Engineer at Lynas Rare Earths Ltd since May 2023, with extensive experience in metallurgy and project implementation. Previous roles include Project Metallurgist at GOLD FIELDS, where involvement spanned reserves and resources and project scoping studies, and Plant Metallurgist at KCGM. Russell also served as a Water & Tailings Specialist at Rio Tinto, focusing on uranium projects in Australia and Namibia. Additional expertise includes work as a Process Mineralogist at Western Minerals Technology, and a Project Scientist at CSIRO, concentrating on the Alumina Program. Russell holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Metallurgy from Murdoch University, an Honors degree in Inorganic Chemistry/Hydrometallurgy from Curtin University of Technology, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemistry from the same institution.
