Engineer Ii, Team Lead at Lyndra Therapeutics

Carmi Mandelkern started their work experience in 2014 as an Intern at Intensity Therapeutics, where they designed a dosage kit for chemotherapy drug delivery and conducted economic analyses using Excel. In 2016, they participated in the Aqueduct Study during their study abroad at the University of Connecticut, investigating the construction and maintenance of ancient Roman aqueducts. Carmi also worked as a Senior Counselor at Camp Ramah In New England, programming activities for children and demonstrating time management and prioritizing skills.

From 2015 to 2018, Carmi held multiple roles at the University of Connecticut, including as a Resident Assistant where they managed a floor of culturally diverse residents and led educational and growth programs. Carmi also worked as a Student Administrative Assistant, providing administrative support.

In 2017, Carmi interned at Duracell, where they contributed to designing and testing prototypes of an improved AA battery and delivered a poster presentation on research conclusions. Carmi later joined the University of Connecticut Institute of Materials Science as an Undergraduate Researcher, studying nanodiscs using various techniques such as Dynamic Light Scattering and Transmission Electron Microscopy.

In 2018, Carmi worked as a Research and Development Engineer at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, optimizing a liposomal drug delivery system for cancer therapeutics, utilizing in-vitro and in-vivo models, and employing various analytical methods. Finally, in 2019, they joined Lyndra Therapeutics, initially as an Associate Engineer, then as a Senior Associate Engineer, and currently as an Engineer 1.

Carmi Mandelkern attended the University of Connecticut from 2014 to 2018, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
