J. Gavin Ray

J. Gavin Ray has worked in a variety of roles since 2004. J. Gavin began their career as an Agent at Butler Properties before becoming a General Contractor at JGR Construction in 2008. In 2012, they became a Software Engineer at ABM Scale Co., where they ported software programs from an internal domain specific language to ANSI C, established company standards for documentation and testing of software applications, and wrote libraries that created a standard user interface to be cross platform on weight based controllers/indicators. In 2014, they became a Software Developer at Bradford Technologies, where they lead the development of version 2.0 of PortalDirect, which added major functionality improvements and many new features that were previously unavailable to the entire industry. In 2016, they became a Software Engineer at Platform9 Systems, where they owned the roadmap for internal automation and tooling, lead the HPE OneSphere and Platform9 integration project/product, and was a core contributor of life cycle management tooling used in all Platform9 deployments. In 2020, they became a Senior Software Engineer at Equinix, where they standardized the deployment model across multiple teams to drastically improve release velocity, coordinated the migration of entire production stack in twenty one sites from four orchestration systems to a single unified platform, and collaborated to create the standards and working agreement for the site engineering organization. In 2021, they became a Senior Staff Engineer and Senior Devops Engineer at Machinify, Inc., where they designed and implemented a common infrastructure platform based on open source software, refactored the production deployment process to allow for engineering groups to ship and manage their software, and extended the infrastructure platform to automate the management of mission critical revenue generating applications. In 2022, they became a Principal Software Engineer at Axiom Technology Services LLC.

J. Gavin Ray completed a Deep Learning Foundation Nanodegree from Udacity in 2017. From 2011-2013, they studied Software Development at Gavilan College. In 2004, they obtained a Certificate of Completion in Real Estate Law, Principals, & Practice from Chamberlin's Real Estate Academy. In 2003, they received a Certificate of Completion in Construction Law & Management from License Instruction School. In 2008, they obtained a General Building Contractor certification from the Contractor's State License Board. In 2004, they obtained a Real Estate Salesperson certification from the California Department of Real Estate.
