Helena Engman, PhD, is an Associate Scientist at Macomics since April 2021, with prior experience as a Research Assistant. Helena completed a three-month internship at the CMR[B] Center of Regenerative Medicine in Barcelona in 2019, focusing on human embryonic stem cell (hESC) and induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) maintenance and generation. In December 2017, Helena participated in a practical course on the derivation and culture of human iPSCs at the Wellcome Genome Campus. Earlier academic work includes a project at the University of Aberdeen in 2015, investigating genes involved in Thalidomide embryopathy. Helena holds a PhD in Optical Medical Imaging from The University of Edinburgh (2016-2022) and a Bachelor of Science in Human Embryology and Developmental Biology from the University of Aberdeen (2012-2016).
