Paul Kauffmann

Paul Kauffmann's work experience begins in 2004 when they were a student at ENSPG/PHELMA, specializing in instrumentation for life science. In 2007, they completed their Master of Science degree while investigating the use of diamagnetic levitation in contactless digital microfluidics.

Following that, Kauffmann pursued their PhD at Grenoble INP, focusing on the design and fabrication of magnetic lab-on-chips for cell and droplet manipulation. During this time, they developed skills in analytical and FEM computation modeling, clean-room microfabrication, and droplet and cell manipulation.

After completing their PhD in 2010, Kauffmann worked as a postdoctoral researcher at UC Santa Barbara, where they conducted electrokinetic experiments to enhance the understanding and application of electrothermal flows for pharmaceutical purposes. Paul also developed a microPIV characterization method for studying 2D and 3D time-dependent mixing.

In 2011, Kauffmann joined IFluidics as an RD Engineer, specializing in microfluidics, electrokinetics electronics, instrumentation, and bioassays. Paul developed an electric 96 well plate for accelerated reactions in HTS assays and diagnostic immunoassays.

In 2013, Kauffmann joined MacoPharma as an RD Engineer and Project Leader, working on undisclosed projects until their departure in 2014.

From 2014 to 2016, Kauffmann was with CNRS, where they led a project on fast magnetic immunology assay. Paul'swork aimed to simplify and accelerate the immunoassay process flow, ultimately developing a magnetic microtiter plate compatible with any plate-reader.

Most recently, Kauffmann serves as the Chief Executive Officer of MagIA diagnostics, a position they assumed in July 2017. Prior to that, they were the chef de projet for MagIA, a role they held from 2016 to 2017.

Paul Kauffmann earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Nanotechnologie from Grenoble INP - UGA, which they pursued from 2007 to 2009. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Physics applied to Biology degree from Université Joseph Fourier (Grenoble I) between 2006 and 2007. Paul holds a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Physics applied To Life Science from Grenoble INP - UGA, completed from 2004 to 2007. Although the start and end years are not provided, it is known that Paul attended Lycée Charles de Gaulle de CAEN, but no specific degree or field of study information is available for this educational experience.
