Samia Islam is an emerging professional with a strong background in both conservation and public health. Currently serving as a Project True Undergraduate Mentor with the Wildlife Conservation Society, Samia engages in urban ecology research while inspiring underrepresented high school students to pursue STEM fields. As a Concrete Safaris Volunteer for AmeriCorps, Samia organizes health resource events in East Harlem, educating the community on public health issues. Prior experience includes roles as an Emergency Medical Technician, where valuable insights into patient demographics were gained, and participating in data science training through the Mount Sinai Health System. Samia's research endeavors at NASA Langley and Old Dominion University, along with internships at Macquarie Group, Generation Citizen, and the NYC Civilian Complaint Review Board, showcase a diverse skill set applicable across various sectors. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Fordham University, Samia combines academic knowledge with practical experiences to address community challenges effectively.
