James Bateman

James Bateman has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. James is currently serving as the CEO & Co-Founder of Marble, a position they have held since 2022. Prior to this, they co-founded and served as the CEO of MedChart from 2014 onwards.

Before embarking on their entrepreneurial journey, James worked as the CEO and Founder of Devra Sports Development from 2008 to 2014. James also gained experience in the healthcare sector as a Research Studentship in MRI at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in 2012. Additionally, they worked as a Summer Mechatronics Developer at the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies in 2011.

James began their career in the construction industry. James was the founder of Covalent Construction in 2009, a Summer Company Founder in 2009, and a co-founder of 2030595 Ontario Inc., a New Homes Framing Company from 2003 to 2009. James also worked as a Carpenter Apprentice at Newstar Framing from 2000 to 2002.

In addition to their entrepreneurial and construction experience, James served as the Health and Safety Manager at D&M Group of Companies in 2002. James has proven their leadership abilities and entrepreneurial spirit through their various roles and ventures.

James Bateman has a diverse educational background starting with their Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science in Engineering Science with a Major in Engineering Physics which they obtained from the University of Toronto in the period between 2009 and 2013. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, which they completed from the same institution during the years 2013 to 2016. Later, James went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto between 2015 and 2019.

Additionally, James Bateman holds a Certification in Engineering Business which they obtained from the University of Toronto in 2013. Further details about when exactly they obtained the certification are not available.
