Saliyah Cruz

Saliyah Cruz, Ed.D has over 16 years of experience in education. Saliyah currently serves as the Chief Equity Officer at Mastery Schools, a position they have held since April 2021. Prior to their current role, they served as the Deputy Chief of Student Development at Mastery Schools from August 2017 to April 2021. Before joining Mastery Schools, Cruz worked as the Executive Vice President of Instructional Leadership at Universal Companies from July 2015 to April 2017. Saliyah also served as the Executive Director of Principal Support at Baltimore City Public Schools from October 2014 to July 2015, and as a School Design Leader at The School District of Philadelphia from January 2014 to October 2014. Cruz began their career as a Principal at Christina School District from November 2011 to January 2014, and they also served as a Principal at the School District of Philadelphia from 2005 to 2011.

Saliyah Cruz, Ed.D has a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree from the University of Pennsylvania, which was obtained from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Temple University, completing it from 2000 to 2002. Saliyah'sundergraduate education includes a Bachelor's degree in English/Language Arts Teacher Education from LaSalle University, completed from 1990 to 1995.
